FAIR TRADE

Made in Utopia

Member of the World Fair Trade Organization

From day one, we have seen ourselves not only as a manufacturer of well-being products, but also as an advocate for socially responsible production conditions and fair trade. Together with the Fair Trade movement, we share the vision of greater justice, transparency, and sustainability in global trade (World Fair Trade Organization, 2009).

As a recognized partner of Weltläden (World Shops) in Austria, South Tyrol, and Germany, we meet clear criteria along the entire production chain – including fair working conditions, environmentally conscious processes, and responsible trading practices.

Since 2023, we have been an official member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).

Honestly, consciously, and with full force, we are steering towards our utopia – for our employees, for our partners, and for our planet.

High social standards

For us, fairness starts with our employees – because they are the heart of our organization.

Only together with them can we inspire people to dream and simultaneously make the world a little better. They are our family – and Bali, where it all began, is our beloved home.

Charly, the founder of Ticket To The Moon, therefore saw himself from the beginning only as part of a larger whole and still treats his team as equals. In Bali, this also means, quite naturally, sitting on the floor together to discuss current issues. Involving employees in decisions is therefore not an extra for us, but a matter of course.

In addition to flat hierarchies, it is above all the familiar and personal interaction that our team values so much – whether with new ideas or in everyday life. This also includes people like Putu Agus or Made Sandi, who has been working in our production in Bali since 2000 and is now our production manager.

We aim to create the right conditions for a good working environment – primarily through fair pay, significantly above the regional average, profit sharing, social security, pension benefits, and free recreational activities.

The shared outings, in particular, strengthen camaraderie and are considered something very special. This strong sense of community shapes the spirit of Ticket To The Moon – and we want to pass this on to our global community.

Our employees are just as important to us as our Indonesian roots. That's why we want to give back: A portion of our profits goes directly to our team – and to our self-founded foundation. With it, we have already been able to realize several projects in the areas of ecotourism, medical care, and education and create jobs.

Fair Trade in Practice

In our work and our decisions, we consistently align ourselves with the principles of Sociocracy 3.0 – and we choose our business partners based on the same values.

A fair, preferably regional approach, and high product quality are fundamental prerequisites for collaboration. We place particular importance on long-term partnerships characterized by a friendly relationship.

Therefore, we not only maintain regular, open communication but also personally visit our external partner companies on-site. Only then can we say with a clear conscience:

We only sell what we live and love ourselves.

PFC-free and OEKO-TEX® certified

Ticket To The Moon is the first completely PFC-free hammock manufacturer – and our parachute nylon is certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

Since our beginnings, environmental protection has been guided by the principle of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – both in Europe and on Bali. Our products are characterized by particularly high quality, which is why we offer a 10-year manufacturer's warranty on material and production defects. With this, we want to make a statement against the throwaway society – and enable our customers to enjoy our products for a lifetime.

In addition to a resource-saving work style, we also invest specifically in upcycling processes. Material remnants from hammock production are either processed into Moon Bags, Backpacks, and other lifestyle products or recycled into new fabrics. Everything that cannot be usefully integrated into our cycle is returned to the value chain by the Balinese recycling pioneer Eco-Bali.

Weltladen Dachverband

With these standards, we are on a path with the Weltladen-Dachverband that brings us step by step closer to our utopia.
