HOW IT ALL BEGAN

  • 1970

Even as a child, our founder Charly developed a deep love for hammocks—he crafted his first hammocks using his father’s straw ropes.

  • 1994

On a trip through India, Charly bought some polyester fabric and tied it between two trees—his own makeshift hammock to protect him from insects and dirt. During his hippie days in western India, this evolved into the concept of hammock camping—sometimes more than 30 hammocks were hung from a single tree.

  • 1996

In Bali, Charly came across a very special material: parachute nylon. That marked the beginning of his search for the ultimate hammock—lightweight, compact, and quick to set up. That’s how the TTTM Parachute Hammock was born. It features a sewn-in pocket, ropes, and stainless steel hooks for quick setup, as well as triple-locked seams for high stability. The breathable and stretchy hammock in vibrant colors became an instant hit. Charly began selling them at festivals and markets throughout Europe.
