Project Wings

One man's trash is another man's treasure!

Project Wings is a growing German NGO currently building the world's largest recycling village in Indonesia – made from 250 tons of plastic waste. Its goal is to address three of the world's biggest challenges: species extinction, tropical deforestation, and plastic pollution. The organization relies on a self-sustaining system run by the local community that combines environmental protection, nature conservation, and animal welfare.

Using an innovative method, they transform plastic waste into so-called eco-bricks , which are used as building material for low-cost buildings.

Project Wings is also committed to rainforest conservation, animal welfare, education, and the promotion of plastic-free alternatives. Future plans include a sustainable marketplace, a sports facility, and an organic restaurant.

Project Wings works with numerous partners and supporters to realize its vision.

We support them with custom-printed bags , which are used at roundtables with NGOs and politicians, as well as at fundraising activities in Germany, to raise awareness for this important mission. We also provide hammocks for community patrols and sleeping cabins for the team and supporters.

Joint awareness-raising projects in Sumatra are planned for the near future – and further collaborations are sure to follow.
