Wie unsere Produkte von Bali nach Europa kommen – ein Blick hinter die Kulissen

How our products get from Bali to Europe – a look behind the scenes

Many of you may have already noticed that we have two webshops:

👉 ticketothemoon.com (Global Shop)
👉 eu.ticketothemoon.com (EU Shop)

Why is that? And how exactly do our hammocks, bags, and accessories get from Bali to your home? Here, we take you along on the journey of our products.

It all begins in Bali

All Ticket to the Moon products are made in our own factory in Bali.
Currently, over 300 people work there under fair conditions, with higher wages than is typical in the region, shorter working hours and profit sharing for our employees.

Our production facility is not an anonymous supplier, but a central part of Ticket to the Moon. That's precisely why transparency is so important to us – including when it comes to logistics.

By ship to Europe – collectively rather than individually

In order to supply customers in Europe quickly and with the greatest possible resource efficiency, we ship our products bundled together via sea freight:

  • Sea freight from Bali to Hamburg

  • then by land to our camp in Kösching (Germany)

We ship approximately four containers to Europe each year.
A container is typically filled to capacity with approximately 650 boxes. For example, 20 original hammocks fit into a single box.

The journey of a container takes approximately two months, from leaving our factory in Bali to arriving at the European warehouse.

Why we have our own warehouse in Europe

The European camp offers you primarily advantages:

  • Very fast delivery times: usually 1-2 working days within most European countries

  • Lower shipping costs due to shorter shipping routes

  • Lower CO₂ emissions compared to individual shipping by plane

  • No customs fees within the EU, as shipping originates from Germany.

We also pay attention to the most sustainable standards possible when shipping to end customers: Our logistics partner Quivo uses cardboard boxes made from 90% recycled paper, natural adhesives and water-based, solvent-free inks.

Why some products are temporarily sold out

Our factory in Bali produces not only for Europe, but also for our own local shops. Demand is particularly high there during peak season.

That means:
Certain colors or products may be temporarily out of stock in the EU shop.
We plan container deliveries as far in advance as possible – but are always somewhat dependent on what can be produced in Bali for export at any given time.

In short:
Availability is sometimes a challenge, but we are constantly working to cover it as best as possible.

What happens when an order is placed in the Global Shop?

Orders via ticketothemoon.com work differently:

  • The product is produced directly in Bali for you.

  • Shipping is usually done by air freight.

  • Delivery takes longer

  • The transport costs are higher

  • The CO₂ footprint is larger

The big advantage:
In the Global Shop you'll find our customizer with individual color selection, combinations, and embroidery options. Ideal for anyone who wants a truly personalized product.

Our recommendation

If you live in Europe, we strongly recommend:

👉 Order via our EU shop : eu.ticketothemoon.com
Faster, cheaper and more sustainable.

👉 The Global Shop is worthwhile if you want a custom-made product or are ordering from outside Europe: ticketothemoon.com
